咬字含糊地唱歌一向是周杰伦的特色，但他在新专辑「依然范特西」裡，却有一首歌字句都特别清楚，原来这首放在专辑最后面的「菊花台」，是电影「满城尽带黄金甲」的歌曲，周杰伦尊重地表示，「总是要让张艺谋老师听得懂」。

It's because the song, "Chrysanthemum Flower Bed," is for the movie "Golden Armors Worn Throughout the City." Jay respectfully said, "at least (I have to sing clearly) so that Zhang Yi Mou understands it."

刚听到「菊花台」这首歌的歌迷可能会吓一跳，周杰伦何时「字正腔圆」了起来。周杰伦和巩俐、周润发等大牌演员一块在「满城尽带黄金甲」中演出，有了这位歌坛小天王，电影歌曲当然少不了他，周杰伦表示当初张艺谋只说像「东风破」这样的歌就很好听，刚好中国风也是他擅长的，一样有著浓浓中国味的「菊花台」就诞生了。周杰伦解释张艺谋并没有要求他要唱得清楚些，不过他自己觉得「这首歌不适合咬字不清」，而且「总是要让张艺谋老师听得懂」，他在唱时特别下了一番功夫，也让这首「菊花台」成了少数不需看歌词，就大概听得懂他在唱些什麼的歌。
Fans that hear the song, "Chrysanthemum Flower Bed," may be surprised as to when Jay started to speak "clearly." Jay acted with famous actors like Gong Li, Zhou Ren Fa, and others in "Golden Armors Worn Throughout the City." With this little heavenly king from the music arena, he obviously needed to participate in the movie's song. Jay expressed that Zhang Yi Mou said that songs like "East Wind Breaks" sound very nice. Since Jay happens to be an expert for Chinese style songs, "Chrysanthemum Flower Bed," which is filled with Chinese style music, was born. Jay said that Zhang Yi Mou didn't request him to sing more clearly, but Jay personally thought "this song shouldn't be mumbled" and "I have to let Zhang Yi Mou understand (what I'm singing)." When he sang the song, he spent a lot of time on it. This also made "Chrysanthemum Flower Bed" become one of the rare songs that people can generally understand without reading the lyrics.

「菊花台」歌名来自「满城尽带黄金甲」一场重要的戏，周杰伦目前还不知道会是主题曲或插曲，但一定会放在电影裡，「民族意识」特强的周杰伦还强调，「这首歌绝不会变成英文，要让老外看了后学什麼是『菊花台』」。坚持只说中文不学英文的周杰伦还表示，「我不想让人家觉得我（自夸），但如果有一天（上台领奥斯卡之类），我一定会讲中文」。
The name of the song "Chrysanthemum Flower Bed" comes from an important part in "Golden Armors Worn Throughout the City." 周杰伦不只不说英文，他的国语也是一大特色，在拍摄「满城尽带黄金甲」时，周杰伦的「台湾国语」遇上巩俐的 「京片子」，就发生一场戏周杰伦竟对著巩俐说，「母后，有什麼『四』 」。周杰伦承认，「我是在配音时才发现的」，他很佩服当时巩俐很厉害，「竟然没笑场」，他也承认特地为「黄城尽带黄金甲」重新配音，「他们都很标準，突然有台湾国语出现很奇怪，配音后会比较好看」。
