When all is said and done, the teen romance "Secret" is nothing more than a half-thought-out but nonetheless effective twist blown up to feature length with an hour of smoke and mirrors, misdirection, and longing, ennui-soaked looks by its two attractive pop idol leads. Where the best shock-eroos -- I'm thinking of the revelation near the end of "The Sixth Sense" or that delicious moment where events come full-circle in "Memento" -- seem, on hindsight, organic to the narrative and even logical from a thematic and dramatic point of view, the secret in "Secret" is one whopper of a non-sequitur, something completely unrelated to anything that came before it.
For most of its running time, though, the picture lives up to its marketing as a sappy, beautifully shot and competently directed love story featuring Taiwan's own Jay Chou, the singer turned actor and now first-time director and screenwriter. 查看全文 | 点击评论

The Golden Lion Award winning director, Jia Zhang Ke, of this year's best film, "Still Life" that was chosen at the Venice Film Festival, has verified that he intends on inviting Jay to play the male lead of his new film "Tattoo Era." China has chosen the new Zhang Yimou film Curse of the Golden Flower to represent the country in the Oscar best foreign film race next year, a news report said Sunday, while a Hong Kong industry official said the territory has picked the Feng Xiaogang epic The Banquet.
Curse, which revolves around ancient Chinese imperial politics, won a vote by a committee set up by China's Film Bureau, the Chinese news Web site Sina.com reported, citing Zhongguo Dianyingbao, a movie magazine overseen by Beijing.
Calls to China's Film Bureau seeking confirmation of the report went unanswered.

咬字含糊地唱歌一向是周杰伦的特色，但他在新专辑「依然范特西」裡，却有一首歌字句都特别清楚，原来这首放在专辑最后面的「菊花台」，是电影「满城尽带黄金甲」的歌曲，周杰伦尊重地表示，「总是要让张艺谋老师听得懂」。
Mumbling as he sings has been Jay's unique style. Yet there is one song in his new album "Still Fantasy" where he spoke clearly. It's because the song, "Chrysanthemum Flower Bed," is for the movie "Golden Armors Worn Throughout the City."
